Hands-On: Flash MX 2004 Publishing
Exercise 42: Export Settings for a Movie File
You can export a Flash MX 2004 Movie File in a variety file format so you
can use the movie in other programs. Export a movie in an Animated Gif, EPS and Adobe
Illustrator file format. (Note: When you export a movie, interactive elements,
such as buttons and actions, may not export properly, so check carefully.)
Follow the simple steps in the Hands-on section below to learn how to Export
movies.
- Click File > Export Movie, and the Export Movie dialog
box appears. (See below).
- Type a Name for the file that will contain your exported movie. You'll
need to pick a location to store this file as well in this step.
- Select the format you want to use for the file by clicking the drop-down
selector to display the available file formats. For example, Flash.swf, Windows.avi, Quick
Time.mov, and a whole bunch of graphic formats as well, such as .jpg, .gif,
and .png.

- Click Save to save the file. (An additional dialog box might appear
depending upon which file format you chose to save your movie file.)
- Click OK to accept the
default settings Flash MX 2004 provides and export the movie in the file format
you specified.
