Hands-On: Flash MX 2004 Publishing
Exercise 41: Publish a Projector File
You can create a Flash MX 2004 Projector File that allows you to play
a Flash MX 2004 movie on most computers, even if a computer does not have Flash
MX 2004 installed.
Creating a projector file is useful for showing a Flash MX 2004 movie during
a presentation or sending a Flash MX 2004 movie in an e-mail message.
Follow
these simple steps:
- Click File > Publish Settings, and the Publish Settings
Dialog box appears.
- Click the Formats tab, and then click Windows Projector. To
also create a projector file that runs on a Macintosh Projector, and then deselect any
publishing settings you don't want, such as Flash and HTML.
- Click Publish to create the projector file. (Flash MX 2004 will
place the projector file in the same location that stores the current Flash MX
2004 document.)
- Click OK to confirm.
Follow
these directions to play these Projector Files:

- Locate the Flash MX 2004 Projector File on your computer.
Double-click
the Flash MX 2004 Projector File
to play the movie
- The Flash MX 2004 Player opens and the movie plays repeatedly.
When you finish playing the movie, close the Window. This file is quite portable
now and can be emailed or saved to disk for repeated use.
