Exercise 13: Make A Simple Animated Shape Tween

Color Fill Swatch Just follow these simple steps to get started:

  1. Set the fill color to a gradient silver color on the bottom left of the color swatch, see the example on the right:
  2. Draw a fairly large circle onstage. (Don't group anything and don't convert anything to a symbol.)
  3. Insert a keyframe in frame 30, press [F6] in frame 30.
  4. Insert a keyframe in frame 15, press [F6] in frame 15.

  5. While in Frame 15, change the fill color of the ball on the Stage to the redgradient fill. Select the red gradient and then select the Paint Bucket tool and touch the ball in Frame 15.
  6. Still in Frame 15, use the Black Arrow Selection tool to first deselect the circle (click off the circle), and then bring the pointer close to the edge until the cursor changes to a curved “happy face” pointer. Click and drag the center of the circle inwards to reshape it, see the center picture below.
    Start Animation  The Ball starts to compress  The ball at maximum compression and new red color.  The ball starts to expandThe ball almost completely back to its original shape.
    (Once Shape Tweening is set, the animation will push in from the upper-right side and then expand back to its original shape as if it was breathing) .
  7. Lastly, you need to set Shape Tweening for the two spans. Clickframe 1, hold down the [Shift] key, and then click frame 15. From the Properties panel select Shape from the Tween: drop-down list.

  8. Test the Scene or the Movie, [Ctrl] + [Enter]. If you like it, Save it too.
