This project will use Macromedia Flash MX to create the entry page (Web
Splash Page) for your Class Final project. The content by necessity
then must be governed by the subject matter of your Final project.
This page must load fairly fast so you won't lose any visitors to the site due to long download times. You will optimize all parts of this page to keep the file size down. If needed, a pre-loader movie can be used to entertain those with dial-up connections.
Muster up all the skills you've gained in this course to build a very attractive and user friendly Splash Page, your visitors and I will be very appreciative!
Use the guidelines below to build your Web Splash Page:
- Dimensions: flexible as long as the width does not exceed
600 pixels, Height does not exceed 400
pixels. The ratio is flexible.
- Must have a combination of bitmap images and vector
graphics. (You may trace your bitmap images
to turn them into vectors if it suits your needs).
- Sound or Sound Loops must be involved
in some way.
- The intended playing duration for the entire Web Splash Page must
not be less than 20 seconds and not exceed 60 seconds. Therefore,
calculate your frames correctly. (12 frames equal 1 second of play time).
- Text or Button links need to be included
within the page that SKIPS the Intro and TURNS
OFF the sound.
- Save the file as flashlab4-splash.fla
.
- Publish the flashlab4-splash.swf file
as your Flash SPLASH project.
